basement redux..

We decided that it was time to refinish the "finished" basement.  I mean, knotty pine panelling is nice and all, but it was time to go.
Look at all that stuff!

All cleaned out and ready for demo.

Demo done! (so dusty)

Drywall progress

Tape and spackle done!

Ready to prime

We ripped out the paneling and ceiling, installed recessed lighting and then insulated and drywalled the space.  We were able to soffit the pipes that lead to the upper floor radiators.  We are going with a plank ceiling in the areas between the soffits and laminate on the floor.  Next step is to prime and paint, and install finished ceiling and flooring. It is still a work in process, but looks much better already, and adds about 300 SF of usable space to the house!

  1. Looks pretty sweet Jen! Keep up the good work. Good idea insulating the ceiling too. Now when the boys are playing video games all night with their friends you won't have to hear it!
